Call Statistics

The Virginia Tech Rescue Squad cares for around 1600 patients a year. This includes all academic breaks, holidays, standbys, and special operations. We respond to calls on the Virginia Tech campus and we provide mutual aid locally when requested.

In addition to responding to 911 calls on the Blacksburg campus, the agency:

• Provides routine transport service from Schiffert Health Center to hospitals throughout the region.

• Provides comprehensive incident/event management for all large-scale planned events.

• Supplies routine standby services to affiliated and non-affiliated organizations as requested.
